Current ProjectI'm doing a "Born on this day..." project almost every day (it's a lot harder on the weekends). Mostly I create a link to a wikipedia or bio page, find a picture I like or embed a youtube video that relates. I pick people that have some connection in my life... it ranges all the way from someone I heard about in 7th grade history class to person that changed the way I think about the world. Like life, it appears to be random but makes sense on a long enough scale.
Lets give this "Social Networking" thing a whirl
This year I made friends with someone that has been on LJ for years. He had a party and several of his journal friends were there. I thought they were very cool, and that it was cool that they had developed their friendships online. So after talking with some of them that afternoon I decided that I wanted to check this out.
Long, long, long ago I was a die-hard journal writer. This interest has been dormant, but I'm starting to remember why I liked doing it back then. I wish I had more time to write, and I've been blown away by some of the posts I've read here. Time is tight these days, outside our 9-5 jobs we are working on starting a bakery. Right now we are baking cookies for Outwrite Bookstore and Coffee House, Which is a great gay bookstore in the heart of Midtown.
Bio? I am a 2nd generation Atlantan but only have a hint of a southern accent because I was schooled by the first wave of northern transplants in the 80's - robbed I tell you!
I've lived in Atlanta all of my life except for 2 years in Jackson, MS and Athens, GA. I moved back to Atlanta in the fall of '96, after the Olympics. I participated in the "internet goldrush", though not enough to retire and write on a blog all day!
I have a Husband, and we will celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary on June 15th. We are both glad to have found a person willing to put up with our "unique ways". We have two somewhat-neurotic dogs that we adore (of course)! Our gay nuclear family is complete.
So I'm writing and reading people's blogs and making LJ friends, feel free to "friend" me if you'd like to.
